A special presentation will be held at the Chicago Botanic Garden observing the one year memorial of the 2011 tsunami, earthquake, and nuclear disaster in Japan. The presentation will give insight to the extrodinary example of the resilience and dignity of the people of Japan. Four Japanese and Japanese Americans with give a presentation of their understanding through their work and talents.

The program will open with a preformance by Fujima Shunojo, founder and master teacher of Fujima Ryu of Chicago

Tatsu Aoki, artistic director, executive producer of Tsukasa Taiko on traditional Japanese philosophy and teaching.

Bill Yoshino, Midwest Director of Japanese American Citizens Leaque, personal insights as a Japanese American.

Dennis Makishima, Master prunner, observing resilience in nature.

Donna Kobayashi, Director Shin-ka LLC, insights to well-being in the Japanese Garden

Special presentation of acknowledgement to Dr. Ikka Nakashima by the Chicago Botanic Garden.
